Nitty Gritty

2391340330_ab582cfac3_bWe’re in the process of creating an organization. Post-finding an amazing organization to agree to fiscal sponsorship, one of the first steps is opening up a bank account (to hold all the generous donations we’ve received!). I must say I am amazed at all the rings one must jump through to open a non profit bank account.  Our local green bank, New Resource Bank, has been very accomodating in this process, and Tracy Rosenberg, the Executive Director of Media Alliance, has been incredibly helpful.  Our bank account process began about a month ago, and it should be signed sealed and delivered in the next few weeks.  Fingers crossed.

Fiscally Sponsored!

malliance_banner_off_012I am very happy to announce that Media Alliance, “a leader in building coalitions for press freedom and media access, accountability and alternatives,” offered to be the fiscal sponsor for the Adapting to Scarcity project.  This is very exciting because it opens many doors for grant writing, and donations can now be tax deductible.  Fiscal sponsorship in this case means Media Alliance harbors my project under their 501 c3 umbrella, and provides some support and guidance.  I’m honored to have the support of this amazing media resource and advocacy center that has actively supported media workers, non-profit organizations, and social justice activists for 32 years.
