During a glorious week of camping around the Grand Canyon, I finally made some time to delve into more project related literature. The first book I read was remarkably inspirational and informative: Maude Barlow’s new book Blue Covenant: The Global Water Crisis and the Coming Battle for the Right to Water. Barlow is the national chairperson of the Council of Canadians, Canada’s largest public advocacy organization, and one of the founders of the Blue Planet Project. Borrowing her own catch phrase, she is one of the preeminent water warriors.

Welcome back or welcome for the first time! This past week I began the daunting task of translating the website into Spanish. I downloaded a plugin to expediate the process, and a few friends volunteered to help me edit my translations. It’s incredibly important to me that everything on the website is in Spanish. I want the project to be accessible in particular to Mexicans since my research will be based there. Much of my research findings will be applicable to other Latin American countries, and the ability to network with similarly focused groups greatly increases with a website in Spanish. Needless to say, it should be another few weeks before I am done. If anyone wants to practice their translating skills, please get in touch with me.
