Welcome to my website, Adapting to Scarcity.

I am traveling to Guadalajara, Mexico in September to conduct research.  My research will study how three communities engage in policy, organize themselves to confront these issues, and manage their resources in the face of scarcity. I chose Guadalajara because its people are experiencing scarcity at an accelerated rate and the communities are self-organized and active in water policy. I plan to develop a model for community water management, working with the grassroots nonprofit IMDEC (the Mexican Institute for Community Development), that I can bring back to my home in the western US.  I will also produce a multimedia and web based component of my project to increase visibility and network building. My project is designed to build reciprocity and share solutions as water scarcity increases in our neighboring countries.
